I have many fond memories of Hawkeye and his friendship was treasured. It was always a treat to spend time with John, both at his "museum" in Gabriels and here in Shelburne. His sage advice and supply of parts were essential ingredients in my endless endeavor to restore my old Buicks. John made promises to show up for a big turkey dinner, but when "push came to shove",he was never able to make it. He certainly will be missed by all who knew him.
