To Jerry's family: The reunion of the SLHS Class of 1959 began on August 15th, the exact day that our beloved Jerry died. Who would have thought? Jerry was among the first of our classmates to register for this 55th reunion and was looking forward to it, as others were looking forward to reconnecting with him. Alas, it was not meant to be and the news of his admission to the hospital and eventual demise was devastating to all of us. On a personal note, I was happy to have been able to see Jerry on his final day and to talk a bit with Paula. All of you were very brave as Jerry was slowly slipping away. I know how difficult that last week must have been for all of you. I am sorry not to have been able to attend the calling hours nor Jerry's funeral and it hurt me to have been in the area and unable to talk with Jerry's family. Please accept my condolences and know that I have Jerry and all of his family constantly in my thoughts. The image that I keep of Jerry is of a very cute, smiling, impish young man who was friends with everyone whom he knew. We all loved him! With great sympathy and love for your brother, brother-in-law, etc... Winnie De Mattos Cormier
