My first true love

In December of 1969 I fell in love with a handsome man with blonde hair, he had a smile and a laugh that lit up every room he entered. He had recently returned from Vietnam and was a dear friend of Ben and Wendy Banker. Wendy was my best friend and I traveled through a blizzard from Long Island to be Godmother to Eric Banker and Brad was the Godfather. I loved listening to Brads stories, his laugh, and his amazing quick wit. We spent most of my Winter break from college and the following summer together, I even thought about moving up to Saranac Lake. In the end we decided it would be best for me to return to college in Delaware, and Brad went to see the world. I heard from him wherever he traveled. Letters and phone calls from Hawaii, Alaska, California, Idaho, Jamaica etc. We would see each other on and off and as others have said it was like we were never apart! His bear hugs always made me feel safe and cared for. Though it's been many years since I last saw Brad we did speak on the phone a few times and he still made me laugh. Marsha, Deb, Terry and the rest of Brads family, I'm so sorry. My heart is broken at the loss of this wonderful man.
