Obituary

On Saturday August 10, 2019, Kenneth M. Miller, loving father of two daughters, passed away at the age of 67.

Kenneth was born in Brooklyn, NY. A resident of Saranac Lake since 1978, he is preceded in death by his father Edward and mother Anne. Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Courtney A. Miller of Rochester, NY and Megan K. Miller of Bradford, PA., and a brother Edward of Jay, NY.

Kenneth was employed as a bartender at the Boathouse Lounge of the Hotel Saranac of Paul Smith’s College for a number of years where he was well known for his quick wit, and great sense of humor. He was also employed by Top’s as a deli clerk before his illness.

Kenneth had a passion for cooking. He especially liked making his famous spaghetti sauce for family and friends.

Kenneth enjoyed music, photography and was a history buff. Kenneth had a love for sports and was an avid Mets and Jets fan, but his greatest love was his two daughters. He will be greatly missed by them, his family and his many friends.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY. Calling hours will be held from Monday August 19, 2019 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm followed immediately by a brief service with the Reverend Eric Olsen officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association in care of the funeral home. My sweetie for 3 years! Even after I moved south, we would chat often! Whenever I went back to NY we would spend time together! I will miss his friendship forever!! My love to Megan and Courtney!!

I am so incredibly saddened to hear of Kenny’s passing. We worked behind the Boathouse bar together for 4 years. He was so kind to my son and I... just a really good human. He will be missed. Condolences to his family.

Ken was like a father to me. He always made me feel like I had a place in his home. Having his daughters as my best friends was one of the greatest parts of my childhood, and having him as a father figure was another beautiful perk. I have so many great memories of Ken, from moments at the dinner table, his impressions of Eric Cartman of South Park, endless supplies of strawberry daiquiris and boathouse french fries. He was an amazing person and an even better dad. I am sad that we are losing such a great person, but thankful that I have so many great memories of him.
