Jeannette was welcoming to me and my family upon her marriage to my father, Robert Sheppard. There are many memories I share with my brothers during our visits to Rainbow Lake and later to Will Rogers at Saranac Lake. Although I didn't have many occasions to visit with her immediate family, I felt that I knew them well since Jeannette often talked about her daughters and grandchildren with a great sense of pride. I extend my sympathies to her family at the loss of their beloved mother and grandmother.

I send prayers and sincere condolences to the family of Mrs. Sheppard. She has long been one of my personal heroes. I hope that this is an appropriate forum to share this story.
At eight years old, I suffered post-op complications after a tonsillectomy. It was Nurse Davis who discovered me hemorrhaging in my sleep. She was credited, by hospital staff and certainly my family, for saving my life. Although I don't recall ever meeting my Guardian Angel, I know who she is.

I knew both Robert and Jeannette for many years and reconnected in Rainbow Lake where I would go to visit her Mother. And then again at church where one could easily witness the love and devotion they had for each other. Tough at work is an understatement as she scared me half to death, yet I did learn from her and in the years ahead learned how to see through the tough and into one of the most gentle of hearts. Jeannette will be remembered for her Christian life of giving to others, her wonderful caregiver skills and her love and support to others she met. Now forever in the arms of our Lord until we meet again.

One tough lady/ nurse- I don’t think she ever missed a day of work- and You better not call in either! She had a great example of work ethic which we all grew to share, but we all enjoyed our work. When our son, Philip Michael, was born she presented us with a beautiful toque & matching sweater. Rest In Peace, Jeanette, you certainly earned it.

We send our sincere sympathy to the families of Carol & Pat at the passing of your mom. Jeannette was a special addition to our family not only being a great listener but as a wonderful step mom for Curtis and his brothers, and a patient and caring grandmother to our kids. I recently ran across sweaters that she knitted for our twins when they were little and still find it amazing how talented and detailed she was in her craft. A favorite memory was listening to her and my father-in-law as they watched Jeopardy together - typically they both knew the answers before the contestants! Very intelligent lady! They shared a love for fishing and reading and time with friends here in Doylestown, OH in their later years. Jeannette will be missed and remembered always. Thank you for sharing her with our family. Love, Ruth Ann
