Obituary for Doris Rita Seymour (Cvitanovich)
Doris R. Seymour, age 96 of Saranac Lake, NY died Friday June 21, 2019 at her residence.
Doris was born on May 22, 1923 in Akron, NY the daughter of Matthew and Barbara (Brelectic) Cvitanovich. Doris married Francis Seymour on September 6, 1947 at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on August 20, 1993.
Doris was an amazing mother and grandmother who lived her life to the fullest. She had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake, in Private Care and at Will Rogers Hospital in Saranac Lake.
Doris is survived by her daughter Francine (William) McIntyre of Saranac Lake, her son Kevin (Carol) Seymour of Vermontville, her granddaughter Kristin (Jared) Wilcox of Saranac Lake, her grandson Kyle (Laura) Seymour of Jericho, VT and her great granddaughter Grace Seymour of Jericho, VT.
Doris was predeceased by her mother and father, her beloved husband, and her 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. At Doris’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday June 26, 2019 at 11:30am at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake with Fr. Kevin McEwan, a personal family friend, officiating. Memorial donations in Doris’s memory can be made to the High Peaks Hospice or Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, 20 Church Street, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.
