Obituary for Roy W. Nichols
Roy W. Nichols, age 69, of Vermontville, NY, died Sunday, February 24, 2019.
Born in Plattsburgh, NY on January 1, 1950, he was the son of Clay and Teresa (Tuthill) Nichols. Roy married Diane Paye on August 1, 1970 at St. Paul’s Church in Bloomingdale, NY.
Roy was employed by Graymont in Plattsburgh for 27 years. He later went to work for Delaney and Tetra Tech until he retired in 2011. Roy was a member of the Sons of American Legion Post 1619. He was an avid hunter and especially loved spending time at his camp with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Diane, one son Jamie (Brandi) Nichols of Redford, NY, two brothers Howard (Lynne) of Sugar Bush and Donald (Veronica) Nichols of Brainardsville, NY one sister Edith Urban (Eugenia) of Merrillsville, NY, four grandchildren Clay, Dylan, Chad and Jamie and three great grandchildren Chad, Jr., Onna and James.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 Am on Saturday March 2, 2019 at St. Paul’s Oratory in Bloomingdale with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating.
