Condolences

Condolence From: Bonnie Jackson
Condolence: Dear Casey, nearly fell off my chair when I came across Maury's passing on facebook. His picture looks very much the same as when I last saw you, in '77 or so. You both were so kind to me, and I learned much and have warm memories of you both. With much love and bittersweet memories, I wish your pains eased in this time of sadness. Bonnie

Condolence: We have lost a really good man. He was always ready with a quick smile and never was in a to much of a hurry for a little conversation. I will miss him and the chats in the parking lot at the salon.

Condolence: Mrs. Otis , I knew you both only through working at a technician at High Peaks Animal Hosp. and occasionally seeing you at St. Bernards. I was of course madly in love with that handsome boy of yours Brandy, and miss his sweet nature and face to this day. You were both such devoted "pet parents", and so gracious and kind to me. I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss and hope that the loving memories and family that surround you bring you comfort.

Condolence: Maury always made me feel like I was still part of the Otis family. Perhaps because we both had mercurial personalities, we understood each other. One of my fondest memories of him involves my taking him as my guest to my Rotary Club in Sarasota. He delighted in telling everyone there that “once a Rotarian, always a Rotarian; once a daughter-in-law, always a daughter-in-law.” I will miss him very much.

Condolence: Maury was great to work with and had a good sense of humor. I was his Secretary when he was head of Natural Resources and I left his office in 1982. One sure could tell when he was stressed out with work. I think of him and always recall the turtle knickknack he gave me and said I'd come out of my shell like this turtle. I know he is in heaven above watching over his loved ones.

Condolence: Dear Casey,

I was saddened to learn of Maury's passing. Somehow I really thought that he would pull through again. I am real glad that I had the opportunity to speak to you and him before Christmas. I know that he really wanted to go the Rotary program, and I understood why he wasn't able to go. I will always remember the good times we had together on our Rotary trips and get-to-gethers. My prayers are with you and the rest of the family--especially Judy and her girls, as they were the only ones that I really knew. Maury was the greatest.

Condolence: Dear Mrs. Otis & Family: I am writing on behalf of my father, Lawrence Nelson, who knew Maury via DEC where they both worked. My dad was in Warrensburg from about 1971 to 1974. We are very sorry to hear of your loss. My dad frequently reminisces about Maury and working together in Warrensburg. Sincerely, Patti Nelson

Condolence: Dear Casey & Family,

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I just read about Maurey in the paper this afternoon. He was a great man and a fun guy to know. I'm sorry I can't be there to pay him the respect he deserves. I wish you peace and love during this difficult time. At least he isn't suffering any more, but he will be missed by many. Sincerely, Kathy

Condolence: Dear Casey and Family,

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Maury was all of these things, a warm hearted man, a loving husband. An avid outdoorsman, he never lost his zest for life, his endearing smile, and his dominant presence. I shall remember him with great affection.

Love, Dan
