Obituary for Norris G. Aubin

Norris G.  Aubin
Norris G. Aubin, age 81, of Saranac Lake, died Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake after a brief illness.

Born in Saranac Lake, on July 15, 1936, he was the son of Alex and Violet (Duprey) Aubin, Sr. On January 11, 1958 Norris married Jessie Durkee at the First United Methodist Church in Saranac Lake.

Norris served in the National Guards from the mid 1950’ into the early 1960’s. Norris worked many years for the Village of Saranac Lake. He worked for the highway department and the police department retiring as the Chief of Police in 1986. He also worked for Hyde Fuel Co. and Trudeau Sand and Gravel. After retiring he worked for St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center for many years.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Saranac Lake Elks Club BPOE 1508, and was a member of the Saranac Lake Golf Club. Norris enjoyed and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved the NY Yankees, Red Devils, and the NY Giants. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family first!

He is survived by his wife Jessie Aubin of Saranac Lake, three children Kevin Norris Aubin and wife Rose Marie (Kelsey) of Lindeley, NY, Sheree Lynn Aubin and partner Charles G. Martin of Bloomingdale and Darcey Janelle Aubin of Morrisonville, six grandchildren, Kerrie and Kasey Aubin, Jason and Mae Farmer, Lucas Lezak and Nathaniel Duquette, one brother Alexander Aubin, Jr, of Vermontville, two sisters Hallie Ohmann and Janice Bombard both of Saranac Lake and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two sisters Ann Grant and Mary Ohmann.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. An Elks service will take place at 5:45 PM Friday night. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 18, 2017 the Fortune - Keough Funeral Home, with Rev. Eric Olsen officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
