I met MaryEllen a little over 15 years ago when my family moved to the area. She urged me to help her by running the Town of Franklin Youth Program. The reason I agreed was because of the passion she showed for the program! She loved the kids and they loved her! She would prepare a Thanksgiving Dinner as a special lunch, make treats to go along with some of our special days and still found time to come visit and sit to chat with the children. I am still directing the program and will continue in her honor! She became a friend and confidante, my substitute Grandma, but above all, an example of community service and caring.
