Obituary for Nickolas J. Gibbs

Nickolas J.  Gibbs
Nickolas J. Gibbs, 57, of Saranac Lake NY passed away in the early morning of Sunday August 13, 2017.

At that time he was an employee of Sunmount in Tupper Lake. Nickolas was also a full time family man. He was a 1978 Saranac Lake High School graduate. In 1986 he joined the United States Air Force where he served nine years before reenlisting into the National Guard providing another eight years of service followed by an honorable discharge. There was nothing he found more pride in than serving his country. He was known for lending a helping hand to any family member, friend or co-worker who may have been in need. One of the many things Nickolas enjoyed most was a quiet Saturday afternoon at home with his wife and his dog Jake.

He is predeceased by his father and mother, Richard L. Gibbs and Eleanor (Malek) Gibbs, a sister Kathleen E. Ody and his mother in-law, Rita A. Pickreign.

He is survived by his wife Carol A. Gibbs(Pickreign) of Saranac Lake, his brother Richard E. Gibbs, sister in-law Susan Gibbs and niece Christie Lynn Ivie of North Port Fl. his son Christopher J. Gibbs fiancé Molly K. Orman and grandson Christopher Nickolas Gibbs of Lake Placid NY. Step daughters Nicole K. Larson of Saranac Lake and Danielle M. Bronstein(Pickreign) husband Joe Bronstein of Charlotte NC. A sister in-law Kathy L. Pickreign of Saranac Lake. Brother in-laws Lawrence R. Pickreign of Saranac Lake and John J. Pickreign of Haines City, Fl. A father in-law John R. Pickreign of Haines City Fl. Along with many other family and friends.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Saturday August 19, 2017. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Patrick Ratigan Officiating.
