Obituary for Richard Joseph Peryer

Richard Joseph  Peryer
Richard (Dick) Peryer Sr, 84, passed away peacefully at home July 20, 2017. Richard was able to stay at home surrounded by the love of his family.

Richard was born September 20, 1932, in Colton, NY. He was the son of the late Geraldine (Stone) and Frederick Peryer.

Richard worked with his father logging, then served in the United States Marines Military Police, after returning he ran a farm and then retired from IBEW Lineman Local 1249 in 1985. After retirement, he went on to drive truck for his son-in-law Lefty (Martins Excavation). Richard loved hunting, spending time at his beloved camp and being close to his family.

Richard is survived by his wife Joyce (Spencer) Peryer of 51 years. 7 children, Richard (Bubby) Peryer and his wife Polly, Linda Stanley, Frederick Peryer, Angela Dickinson and her husband Tim, Johnny Peryer and his wife Linda, Joan Law and her husband Jon, Billie Joe Zerrahn and her husband Dave. 12 Grandchildren, Stephen, Jennifer, April, Frederick, Daniel, Johnathan, Nathan, Jon, Abigail, Jessica, Jacob and Patrick. 6 Great Grandchildren, Alyvia, Nadalie, Ava, Mia, Johnathan, Braeden and Amelia Grace.

He was predeceased by his brother Stephen Peryer.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at St. John's Church in Lake Clear, with Rev. Patrick Ratigan officiating. Burial will follow in Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake.
