The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Jo-Anne Kerst Branch can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Sean Stewart
Condolence: Joey was my "Adirondack Aunt". I always saw her as the tough, rugged aunt who fearlessly faced those fridgid Saranac Lake winters.
One summer day when I was a teenager, Joey showed up at my parents house with her kayak. She wanted to teach us how to do the "roll technique" in the water. She made it look so easy; flip over, move paddle to side and flip up. Easy. Joey also saved me from drowning that day.
I will always remember her and think of her whenever I am in the mountains.

Condolence: My sincere condolences for your loss. I worked with Jo-Anne at NCCC when I was Dir of CRJ. I always enjoyed her presence and all the students I knew who had her as an instructor thought very much of her. I recall both of you, Mike and Jeff, and I am sorry to hear of her passing.

Condolence From: Peter and Debbie Biddle
Condolence: Our condolences to the family of Joey Branch. We knew her as a respected colleague and friend at NCCC for 25 and 9 years respectively. She was a doer and student advocate. As an instructor she was someone to confidentially work with to help students in need. She will be missed.

Condolence: Joey was a model for me as a young teacher. I watched her patience, humor, strength and softness with students and with all others. She made an impact on so many and started many on their paths, always nudging in the right direction. Her lovely smile lingers in the air, the trees and the waters she loved.

Condolence: Gentle giant might seem odd to think of Joey, not that anyone who knew her would deny her gentle nature. Soft spoken, nurturing, born to teach the young and devoted to shaping their course in life. Never one to explode or condemn, Joey was measured in all her responses. But giant? Yes, Joey-- strong, solid, sturdy-- was every bit a formidable athlete. I thank her for teaching me to downhill ski back when we used leather and spring bindings, and how to tackle white water in a kayak. But taken all together, who she was makes her big in my remembrance, not in size, but in human spirit...so unassuming, we forget how great a model she was for all of us privileged by her being in our lives, forget until she is gone and realize then how much we have lost.

Condolence From: Lora Brown, Sarasota FL
Condolence: Prayers to our community and from all the class of NCCC 1985 as Jo-Anne as touched the lives of everyone she met. She went above and beyond the call of being a teacher and was always there to help her students in anyway she could. She opened her heart and her home to many and her kindness will live forever in our memory.
