Barbara H. LaBrake, age 88, of Vermontville, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid.
Born in Saranac Lake, New York on June 01, 1928, she was the daughter of Edna R. Bryant.
Barbara, married Lawrence LaBrake on November 19, 1944 in Bloomingdale, New York. He predeceased her in April of 1997.
Barbara was a member of the Over 55 Club and volunteered for the board of Elections for many years. She loved politics, knitting, crafts and playing cards. She had been employed at the school house in Vermontville in the cafeteria and at the decorator shop in Saranac Lake.
She is survived by her son William LaBrake of West Palm Beach, FL, her daughter Mary LaBrake of Vermontville, NY, her daughter Betty Callaghan of Chatsworth, CA, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Carol LaBrake.
Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM on Tuesday January 3, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery in Vermontville in the spring.
