It's taken me a long time to write about my Dad. I'm still in shock over his sudden death. Thank you to everyone for your condolences for "Charlie". We were coming to see him on October 8th and he had a doctors appointment on the 9th. We had been coming to see him every 3 months as he was losing his memory. He hated it and would often talk about the good old days. We took him to see his older sister, Mildred in the summer of 2012. She cried when she saw him and he was really touched. She died on 10/13/13 ...one day after my Mom's death. This past summer we took him to see his younger sister, Doris. They had the Bailey reunion. It was great to see him thoroughly enjoying talking with everyone and hearing stories of when he was young. He was a "one of a kind man and father". When I would go to the card store to get a birthday card, father's day card, etc. it was really hard to find one that fit him. All I can say is we will miss him..his humor..his love and even his stubborness. J&J

Got a call from Willie and Rosie on September 28 that Willie went to check on Dad and found that he had passed on. So terrible for Willie who loved Dad and was always there for him. We (Dad’s family) all lived so far away and wanted him to move in with one of us. Dad would not leave the Adirondack Mountains that he loved for almost 50 years. Always very independent, he lived life his way. He was always joking about something and we will all remember his sense of humor and lots of good times at Charlie’s Inn, picnics on Upper Saranac Lake, and swimming in Lake Clear. “It is your mission, tested and tried one, to walk out on the stage of this world and reveal to all earth and heaven that the music is not in conditions, not in the things, not in externals, but the music of life is in your own soul.” Streams in the Desert, Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Charlie's family and friends. We had the pleasure of enjoying Charlie's company at many holiday dinners, he certainly will be missed.
