Teresa R. Eshelman, age 91, formerly of Alder Brook, New York and currently of West Milford, N.J. died Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at her home.

Born in Alder Brook, NY on February 02, 1921, she was the daughter of John and Marguerite (Buckley) Ryan. She married Clarence Fred Eshelman on March 15, 1942 in Gouverneur, NY. He predeceased her on April 27, 2000.

Teresa was a resident of Alder Brook from 1977 through 2007, moving from Union, NJ. She moved to the Chelsea at Bald Eagle in West Milford, NJ in 2007. After World War II she spent a number of years in post war Germany with her husband who was serving in the US military at the time as a part of the effort to rebuild Germany. She served on the Board of Trustees for the St. Rose Cemetery in Alder Brook, NY and volunteered at the Franklin Food Co-op. She also served as Town Historian for the Town of Franklin and worked for the Town of Franklin Town Court for many years.

She is survived by one daughter Bonita O'Connor of Pompton Plains, NJ, and one son Fred Eshelman of Schroon Lake, NY, two brothers Raymond Ryan of Cazenovia, NY, and Bernard Ryan of Queensbury, NY, three sisters Marguerite Zerrer of Naples, FL, Barbara Jean Burns of Atlanta, GA, Joan Oderkirk of Batavia, NY, five grandchildren Heather Eshelman McCusker of Pennington, NJ, Scott Eshelman of Chevelry, MD, John Hankin of Morristown, NJ, Pamela Hankin of Pompton Plains, NJ, and Walter Hankin of Pompton Plains, NJ, two great grandchildren Logan and Ezra Hankin and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and 7 brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Following the calling hours, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM at St. Bernard's Church in Saranac Lake. Burial will take place in St. Rose Cemetery in Alder Brook on Wednesday, December 11, 2012 at 2:00 PM.
