Blanche  Titus (Otis)
Blanche Otis Titus, 94, of Paul Smiths, New York, was born July 9, 1917. She died peacefully surrounded by her family at the Uihlein Mercy Center on June 11, 2012.

The daughter of Bertha and Henry Otis, she lived most of her life on Easy Street, Paul Smiths, New York.

Blanche was predeceased by her husband, James Titus, her daughter Lorraine Titus Staats, her son-in-law, Lewis J. Staats and her eldest daughter, Janet Titus Davis. She is survived by her son-in-law Clifton Davis of Bangor, Maine and her five grandchildren: Greg Davis and his wife, Karen of Bar Harbor, Maine, Glenn Davis and his wife, Mary of Brewer, Maine, Lori Staats Martin and her husband, Eugene "Butch Martin of Lake Placid, Lisa Bimonte of Lake Placid and her boyfriend Robert Lawyer of Tupper Lake and James Staats and his wife, Lori of Lake Placid; four great grandchildren: Ben Davis, Jared Davis, Lorissa Martin and Elizabeth Bimonte as well as one great-great grandson.

Blanche was a happy and easy going person. Even though, her husband and children predeceased her, she kept carrying on with a positive outlook and an abundance of laughter.

Family and friends were extremely important to Blanche. She loved camping with her husband, Jimmy at Meacham Lake and truly enjoyed it whenever her family could join them, which was very often. She loved playing jarts and other camping games as well as campfires and cooking smores.

She was a very hard worker. She was an incredible cook and was employed by Paul Smiths College as head chef for their residents.

Calling hours will take place at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake on Thursday June 14, 2012 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:30 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Joanne White officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Gabriels.
